Creating Sketches

On this second post we analyze ten possible sketches from the data contained in the Park dataset. Here I explored 10 different visualizations through sketches, which in some cases are complementary between them and pretend to visually synthetize the content of the dataset in order to highlight its more important features.

FG 1 is one of the most complete sketches, including Time, Location, Weekday, Quantity and Type. The same dimensions, excluding location, are available in FG9, which also eventually allows us to add more filtering options, for example, Type of Customer (Constructed field).

Other of the sketches is FG2 ((Type Client, Quantity) which is closely related with FG3, being the latter an improvement of the previous one, adding detailed information by weekday.

Other sketches could be consider variations of the ones previously proposed. For instance, FG5 is a variation of FG1 where we use color intensity instead of size to illustrate the quantity of movements in certain coordinate. FG6 contains information in Day, Time and Quantity, however, in FG7 we combined this information with location on a circle-based figure, which allow us to also include connections between the spot an the time where it shows some activity. Finally FG8 is an attempt to include the Violin chart to explore this data, featuring information on Day, Time, Type Customer and Type .
